At Home With: Shane & Lauren Potvin
In 2017, well-known Windsorites Shane and Lauren Potvin found their ideal home in Walkerville—an eclectic, storybook-style cottage that reflects their creativity, community-driven spirit, and love for great design. Border City Living helped them trade their mid-century modern home in South Windsor for something more them—a unique space with character, history, and a walkable lifestyle.

Shane, the founder and creative director of Spotvin, has shaped Windsor’s visual identity through bold, high-quality design. As the Chair of the Ford City BIA—and unofficial Mayor of Ford City—he’s dedicated to fostering local culture and business. Lauren, coordinator of the Ford City Community Garden and owner of Bunch, curates a shop filled with nostalgic, sustainable, and design-forward goods—an aesthetic reflected in their home’s decor.

Character is something this European-inspired home has in spades. The large “bow” window floods the main living space with natural light, soaring ceilings add a sense of openness, and historic details bring timeless warmth. The historic charm is balanced by modern functionality, giving Shane and Lauren the best of both worlds—classic craftsmanship with the ease of contemporary living.
Walking to work is a must, and having a great park nearby for their dog Benny, was just as important. Now, their daily routine includes strolls through the coffee at their favourite local spots, and effortless connection to the city they love.
