566 Old Tecumseh: Home Tour
Working with Andrew Faaca to sell his unique home in Lakeshore, has been such a fulfilling experience. It could be one of my favourite things ever, to bring all of my hardest working friends together in sharing a common goal – especially when that project ends with a happy client who deserves every ounce his inevitable future success.
Many enlightened locals are familiar with the house on Old Tecumseh because of its notoriety as a centre for yoga, retreats and a location in his popular documentary film, Voyage to Betterment. Andrew, a former businessman, who has since devoted his life to spiritual healing and the alleviation of suffering, will continue to hold his Samyana vitality courses over the next 6 months. His courses are open to the public and include free use of the private lakefront, indoor spa & sauna as well as complimentary organic soups, juices, and tea.
Our approach to this project was simple – we wanted to highlight all of the natural materials and the creative flow of the layout. For a house nestled in the trees with multiple balconies and over 90 windows, it was clear where the focal points would be. With the help of Kate Isley, staging queen and interior designer of Bungalow Home Decor, we brought the natural essence of the surroundings inwards, throughout the home, with the use of wood, concrete and greenery while highlighting local furniture pieces such designs by Todd Lindsay. Anna Kwiatkowski, owner and consultant of Neat Cleaning Co. an eco-friendly, sustainable cleaning service, is our secret weapon for that added sparkle and freshness that every million dollar listing deserves!
Every house has a story and to us it was obvious that the new owner should appreciate a yogic/meditative lifestyle. After traveling with the Sacred Buddha relics across North America on a 68 country tour sponsored by the Dalai Lama, Andrew returned back home and the relics were given shelter at Andrew’s lake house until made their way to their final destination in India. The relics powerfully condition the space they occupy, making it an ideal place for deep meditation and healing. Andrew’s home and property is also perfectly set up for entertaining – proven at our listing party with beautiful spreads by The Cheese Bar , local wine by Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards, beer by our guys at Brew and amazing outdoor fireplace display by Dekko Concrete.
And of course, there’s no way we could have sold this house in 3 days without the incredibly artistic photos by our main girl Emma Davidson of Karitas Photography and beautifully shot listing video by Tyler of Stenlund Videography. Please get in touch if you’d like to hear more info on a listing package and consultation by Vision Realty Windsor Inc. and Border City Living. We’d love to meet you!
